A fabulous wedding at Ufton Court

What an absolute cracker of a wedding this was at Ufton Court. Ufton Court is a fabulous place for a wedding! Stunner of a day, gorgeous couple, amazing family and friends and Ufton Court is a great place for wedding photography!

Steeped in history and situated in stunning countryside on the Berkshire/Hampshire borders. Ufton Court is Grade 1 listed Tudor manor house and Tithe Barn remain an undiscovered gem to many couples looking to celebrate their special day.

Wedding photography is an incredible job. I get to hang out with amazing people in fabulous locations and deliver them wedding images they never thought were possible.

Katie and Alex were just so lovely to work with. Katie had a gorgeous wedding dress from Wedding Frox in Cranleigh. It was a stress free wedding morning (although a little bit on the warm side at 28 degrees)!

The ceremony was held in the stunning Tithe Barn at Ufton Court. Think awesome high wood beams, candles and paper lanterns. So romantic.

Blue skies and not a cloud in sight ensured that all the lawn games were in action and the formal more posed family photographs were a cracker.

So here is my take on formal family images. They are important. I am not a ‘shouty’ photographer who gets frustrated when family members are not moving into position quick enough. I understand and am mindful that this is a wedding and family are SO excited! So, together with the couple prior to their wedding day – we put a plan in place to make sure we get the very best formal photographs. This is normally designating helpers to round family and friends up. Works brilliantly ever time.

Some couples do not want formal photographs, some do. If you do then they need to be just as awesome as the ‘candid wedding images’. Job done.

I stole Katie and Alex throughout the day and evening for some time alone to get some candid photographs of them both. I really prefer taking couples for ‘pockets’ of time rather than a whole hour at a time. I feel couples are more relaxed and don’t spend too long away from their guests.

Also, but taking the bride and groom away for shorter periods it helps take advantage of the different types of light throughout the day.

It really was a fabulous wedding and Katie and Alex have posted some very kind words about my photography:

“We can’t recommend Laura enough! She was recommended to us by another photographer and from the moment we spoke to her, we were put at ease and knew that she understood our vision and would capture our day perfectly.

Leading up to the day, we loved looking at her Instagram account and seeing other people’s happy days as it got us excited about our own day. Her photos are stunning and she makes every venue look magical. Have a look if you haven’t already.

We had a lively rugby crowd at our wedding and Laura had the class and banter to keep everyone happy and get the photos that we wanted. When people talk to us about our wedding one of the first things they comment on was our photographer – she caught some fantastic natural shots particularly during the speeches and whilst people were playing lawn games.

We will treasure our photos forever and would urge anyone with any trepidation to GIVE LAURA A CALL. She gave us fantastic advice and exceeded all our expectations”

Here are a selection of my favourite images from a very special day…..enjoy x
