The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe is like stepping into a wonderland. On their website it promises to deliver a ‘fairytale wedding day’ and it did just that.
I have never been to this neck of the woods before. After a long drive down the M4, M25 and a few more built up roads, I turned off towards Castle Combe. Boom! What a delight for the senses this place is. Castle Combe has been voted the most prettiest village in England, and they are not wrong. The village sits in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north west Wiltshire.
Castle Combe has featured regularly as a film location, most recently in The Wolf Man, Stardust and Stephen Spielberg’s War Horse. It was also used in the original Dr Doolittle film. I was so excited when I arrived.
In the vast grounds lay giant jenga, croquet and up above bright blue skies. It was going to be a great day. The beauty of The Manor House Hotel is that it has it’s very own Church in the grounds. Just lovely!
Sam was getting ready in one of their amazing rooms, with a ton of gorgeous and very funny bridesmaids. Champagne corks popped, funky music in the background…..and Sam was being transformed into a stunning bride right before our eyes.
The vicar had one of the best sense of humours I have experienced, the ceremony was ace. Sam and Stuart have the most adorable dog called Ralph. Of course, he was present at the ceremony and right throughout the day. I fell in love with him!
The entire day was upbeat, hot, sunny and filled with their entire friends and family totally and utterly enjoying themselves. Stuart looked incredibly dapper and Sam, well she look super gorgeous in her Surrey Brides dress.
I know you are both currently on honeymoon in Mexico, so have the most wonderful time. It was my pleasure to photograph your wedding and get to know you in the run up. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Gottschalk and wish you every happiness for your future together. Here are some of my favourite images from your special day x
