Charles and Melissa are amazing. They held their wedding at the stunning Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds. Two people that had decided to hold two weddings over a ten day period. Yes that was two weddings over a ten day period. Not only that, one wedding was held in Sydney with the other wedding being held in the UK. Melissa is from Australia and Charles is from the UK – so why not!
I connected with them both through a cousins wedding I photographed the year before in Richmond Upon Thames – it’s always lovely to have a referral.
I do love a Barn wedding especially in the Autumn and Winter time. This was my first time at Cripps Barn and it’s a stunning wedding venue.
Cripps Barn is an 18th Century Cotswold stone bar. It’s truly magical. Melissa and Charles had their wedding at St Mary’s Church in Cirencester, then had their reception and wedding party at Cripps Barn. It worked a treat.
I stole Charles and Melissa throughout the day and evening for some time alone to get some candid photographs of them both. I really prefer taking couples for ‘pockets’ of time rather than a whole hour at a time. I feel couples are more relaxed and don’t spend too long away from their guests.
Also, but taking the couple away for shorter periods it helps take advantage of the different types of light throughout the day.
The ceremony was gorgeous, speeches were hilarious and the entire day was a joy to photograph. If you fancy having a barn wedding, I would highly recommend that you check out Cripps Barn!
Big high five to Fabulous Flowers Oxford as they did a stunning job with the floral decoration for this wedding.
Here are a selection of my favourite images from a very special day…..enjoy x
