Upwaltham Barns is a gorgeous barn wedding venue overlooking the South Downs. A rustic barns wedding venue complete with rose gardens & Moroccan snug. It was the perfect wedding venue for Rosie and Ed.
Everything you need for the perfect wedding can be found here. A cracking stone and wood timber barn for the ceremony. Gorgeous grounds that overlook the South Downs National Park, and a spectacular bridal room.
Rosie and Ed were such a joy to be around, always smiling and always holding hands. This couple took advantage of a pre wedding photo shoot before their big day. This is a great way of having a ‘practice’ in front of the camera before that all important day. It really paid off as the normally shy Ed and Rosie were fully at ease when we were photographing them.
Rosie was a very calm bride and everything went to plan. The wedding flowers were a dream from Chez Fleur Florist. Rosie looked incredible in her Sassi Holford from The Pantiles Bride (complete with pink converse!). The ceremony was stunning and the weather held out for a cracking wedding reception.
Rosie and Ed really wanted to take advantage of the South Downs to take some of their more ‘couple photos’. The sky turned black in the distance and stayed dry overhead, making for a very dramatic shot for their Album!
The newlyweds and I took some moments throughout the day and evening for some time alone and to capture some candid photographs of them both. I really prefer taking couples for ‘pockets’ of time rather than a whole hour at a time. I feel couples are more relaxed and don’t spend too long away from their guests. After all, when you are just married you want to mingle and enjoy your reception before you sit down for your wedding breakfast.
Also, but taking the newly weds for shorter periods it helps take advantage of the different types of light throughout the day.
Rosie and Ed chose the magician Ben Williams from unbelievable magic for their wedding day. He was amazing and a real hit with the guests well into the evening, I highly recommend him.
A bit of a wedding favourite of mine are singing waiters. Silver service singers totally rocked it. No one knew about this apart from the bride and groom. A real surprise that went down very well indeed.
From Mexican street food to cigar smoking, this was a fabulous wedding at Upwaltham Barns. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Delaney, you were both amazing to work with!
Here are a selection of my favourite images from a very special day…..enjoy x
