Charlotte and Rob told me they were getting married at That Amazing place. I asked them which Amazing Place they were getting married in. They told me That Amazing Place. Yes, there is a venue nestled in Essex called That Amazing Place and what a gem of a wedding venue it is.
I first met the newly engaged couple at The National Wedding Show at London’s Olympia. Charlotte is a dream. Too funny, confident, oozes charm and very glamorous. Rob just loves her.
It was not a case of would I photograph their wedding, I had too. I felt blessed when they chose me to document their wedding day.
We had a pre wedding photo shoot that made my face hurt. Too much laughing and love between these two. This took place at Isabella plantation in Richmond Upon Thames and was a great way of getting to know them even more.
I had never photographed at That Amazing Place before – and it did not disappoint. Nestled in the Essex countryside, That Amazing Place (also known as “Hubbards Hall”), was originally built in the 15th century as a monastery. For many years this grade II listed hidden gem was occupied as a residential property, until its current owners decided to renovate and re-open it as the beautifully elegant venue that it is today.
Bridal preparation was a hoot, the ceremony was emotional and Charlotte looked every inch of the glamorous bride I knew she would.
I stole Charlotte and Rob throughout the day and evening for some time alone to get some candid photographs of them both. I really prefer taking couples for ‘pockets’ of time rather than a whole hour at a time. I feel couples are more relaxed and don’t spend too long away from their guests.
Also, but taking the couple away for shorter periods it helps take advantage of the different types of light throughout the day.
Here are a selection of my favourite images from a very special day…..enjoy x
