Blackstock Farm Country Estate is a beautiful countryside wedding venue. Situated on the rolling South Downs of Sussex, it’s a wonderful place to tie the knot! Blackstock Farm consists of two barns well over 300 years old. wow!
Stephanie and Nicholas. Two very different people who compliment each other perfectly. Nicholas is a pilot and is a very outgoing chap indeed. Stephanie is totally gorgeous and sophisticated. I met them both initially for our pre wedding consultation at No1 Duke Street in Richmond Upon Thames. This is a great opportunity to find out more about them and the reasons why they chose Blackstock Farm.
Like many of my meetings with couples, it’s really not like a meeting. This is a chance to really catch up, get to know each other better and to discuss the expectations of the day and photography they wanted.
They both have a bold sense of humour and wanted very romantic images coupled with some humourus ones.
When I arrived to start capturing the bridal preparation, Nicholas was already set to go with his groomsmen. He was certainly keen.
Stephanie had stayed the night with her family and as I thought was cool, calm and slowly getting prepared. With not too many people in the room, I managed to capture some stunning images of her candidly getting ready. Her wedding dress was tiny and simply divine.
The Tudor Barn is where they were getting married. It features a wealth of ancient oak structural timbers and grand chandeliers made from antique cartwheels. It was like being back in time.
It looked like it was going to rain all day, but it held off right up until the wedding party sat down for their dinner. This gave the sky a dramatic look all day which I love for wedding images.
The ceremony was fabulous with a very light hearted and almost comedy like registrar – which suited Nicholas and Stephanie down to the ground. Nicholas and Stephanie had given me a short list of the ‘formal’ images they wanted after the ceremony. We were able to capture these against the backdrop of the entire Blackstock Estate.
The more relaxed images of Nicholas and Stephanie are some of my favourites. I just love the way they hold each against the moody dark skies of the South Downs. Here are a few favourites from this special day to tell their story!
