Intimate wedding photography

Intimate wedding photography will be the ‘new normal’ moving forward….for at least the next few months.

Where has the first six months of 2019 gone? I sit here looking at the last few months of my wedding calendar and they have been blank. The last wedding I photographed was on March 20th 2020 and fortunately my next wedding (albeit small and intimate) will be this Sunday 4th July 2020.

For everyone, the couples who wanted to marry the love of their lives, the wedding suppliers who were gearing up for cracking start to 2020…..it never quite worked out that way.

So many amazing wedding suppliers have suffered, so many incredible couples that I have got to know really well over the past year have had to make very painful decisions to postpone their wedding day.

Smaller more intimate wedding photography is now where we are….for now. As I look towards a new way of working within the wedding industry over the coming months I wanted to share some of my favourite images from the few months where I was able to photograph weddings.

I have always loved capturing smaller more intimate weddings at York House Twickenham. An incredible venue which I am proud to say I am on their list of preferred suppliers. One of the most luxurious venues I have been lucky enough to photograph at was The Banking Hall in London. Outstanding venue from start to finish, the florists who decorated this blew everyone away.

Further afield the venues that have really made my jaw drop have been Pembroke Lodge and The Bingham Hotel Richmond Upon Thames. Stunning venues set in acres and acres of beautiful gardens and grounds. Not to mention Longstowe Hall and Frensham Heights. All incredible venues with very hard working staff who are there to make a wedding day so very special for all.

I pinch myself every time I set off to photograph a wedding day. It’s the most wonderful day to be part of and I am so very grateful to have been taken along for the ride.

Some of the smaller, more intimate weddings I have been fortunate enough to capture have been awesome. This Sunday I will be photographing the wedding ceremony of Idunn and Ed at the impressive Petersham Hotel in Richmond Upon Thames. This will be a mixture of bridal preparation, the ceremony and photographs as a married couple thereafter. I simply cannot wait! Here are some of my favourite images over the past few months…..enjoy x
