Islington Town Hall is a real favourite venue of mine. I love the fact it’s on the high street and many couples book me at this venue for more of an unconventional wedding. The Town Hall, on fashionable Upper Street, is home to the Register Office and Ceremony Rooms, they chose Room 99 for their ceremony. It’s an impressive listed building, with its grand façade and sweeping marble staircase, provides an elegant setting for a wedding ceremony, not to mention an impressive backdrop for photographs. It has a magnificent staircase leading into the building.
Many couples book this venue for a more unconventional wedding, Rebecca and Elliott did just this. They have been together for a while and wanted to celebrate their relationship together.
I had not met Rebecca or Elliott before their wedding day. I did have an in-depth FaceTime call with them prior to their big day. I do this with every single couple to ensure that their expectations are met.
It was lovely to rock up to Islington Town Hall and meet them in the flesh. Rebecca looked absolutely stunning in a red dress – with Elliott looking pretty dapper too.
It was a very laid back, intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. No bridal preparation, no speeches, no first dance. A fabulous ceremony at the iconic Islington Town Hall.
Another reason why I love this venue is that most couples love to walk down the high street to their next venue. Rebecca and Elliott chose Fredericks, a cool, light and airy restaurant situated on Camden Passage in Islington. Their private dining was in the Club Room at Fredericks. It’s a brand new room that looks out over the garden, with it’s own bar and private terrace.
You are surrounded by rock artists, in various poses, photographed by Jill Furmanovsky, leather panels, skylights, and, tucked away in the far corner is a 75″ screen, in case you want to watch the World Cup, Wimbledon or maybe your wedding pictures!
The weather was fabulous so the party were able to have drinks on the terrace followed by dinner in the Club Room.
I left the party as soon as they were presented with their food. A fabulous afternoon witnessing Rebecca and Elliott become husband and wife. It was my pleasure to be part of this intimate occasion and I wish you both every happiness in this new chapter of your lives together. Here are a few favourite images from the afternoon…..xx
