This was no ordinary wedding. Ainaz and Nicholas have planned not one, not two but three weddings! Ainaz is from Malaysia, and for their first wedding they wanted something different and London based. They got ready in the morning for their big day…together at home, which was really very lovely. It’s always a pleasure to be invited into someones home to photograph such intimate and special moments, and I was made to feel very welcome. Some great images of the bride and groom captured getting ready – and they both had the most amazing shoes!
We then headed over to Weybridge Registry Office for a intimate ceremony, then it was off to the fabulous restaurant in Ripley, Surrey called Drakes. The main celebration was bring held at 34 Grosvenor Square called The Emin Room – in the very heart of Mayfair. It’s an amazing venue. The Emin Room is located above 34 and houses specially commissioned art by celebrated artist Tracey Emin.
Ainaz had a theme in mind for their celebration – 1940’s Gatsby style! Everyone looked incredible in their flapper dresses and props and with a hint of Ella Fitzgerald in the background, it was the perfect evening. (I had my eye on the Macaron tower all evening, it was spectacular).
All weddings are a very happy occasion, but this one was off the scale. their friends and family were beaming and laughing from the minute they arrived. Ainaz and Nicholas, it was my pleasure to photograph you both – Ainaz you looked like a movie star. See you at wedding number two! xx
