Who does not love a great boho style marquee wedding? Wellies, umbrellas and paella were on the menu here.
I met Amy and Andrew at The National wedding show at London’s Olympia in February. This gorgeous couple are very laid back and had some great ideas for their special day.
In their pre wedding day consultation they really wanted a documentary style approach to their wedding day. Prefering to have more candid wedding photography images than posed.
They were married on a Tuesday at Islington Town Hall. A venue that I simply adore and know very well, the couple kept this ceremony to their closest family members. A chic intimate wedding at this iconic venue in London.
For the weekend it was off to photograph their marquee wedding. Think vintage lace dressed, shabby chic furniture and vases, the most amazing flowers and of course the gorgeous bride. Amy was getting ready at her Grandparents house adjacent to the field where marquee wedding was to take place. There were some pretty dark clouds looming and a few rumbles of thunder. There is nothing you can do about the weather on your wedding day…you have to roll with it. There was no plan B. Everything was set up, the bails of hay were the seats along with some fabulous looking friends and family waiting for Amy’s arrival.
Espresso martinis were flowing whilst the music was cranked up…and we had not even sat down for the wedding breakfast. With the rumbling of thunder in the distance and a brief clearing of the rain I set off with the bride and groom for some images of them both.
Long wooden tables with shabby chic wedding chairs were laid out. All very relaxed.
This lovely couple really wanted the emotion and feelings captured from the whole wedding day. All the little moments that they will miss together and separately. Candid wedding photography that will tell their story from start to finish.
An incredible day and evening. Amy and Andrew I wish you every happiness for your future together. Here are my favourite images from your very special day………enjoy x
