The Italians and Irish certainly know how to eat, drink, celebrate and party! I met Chiara and Justin last year to hear all about their preparations for their very special day. Chiara is from Italy and Justin from Ireland, and they both met just over two and half years ago.
They both met at The Narrow Boat in Islington, and it was whilst they were on holiday in Long Island, that Justin decided to propose on the beach.
I adore photographing weddings at Hackney Town Hall. I love the building, and when the sun shines, with the large Palm’s out front – you could almost be in Montenegro! It’s a wonderful place for a ceremony, and this is where Chiara and Justin exchanged their vows.
I met Chiara in the morning at her house around the corner. It was a very ‘Italian’ affair. Her Grandmother was unable to travel from Italy, but she was with us all morning via SKYPE on Chiara’s iPad.
The theme of Chiara’s wedding day was very 1920’s which I loved. Her wedding dress was absolutely stunning, it was perfect for her in every way.
The ceremony was just beautiful and afterwards we took a taxi to an incredible place called Dalston Heights. Dalston Heights sits on the top floor of a former cardboard box factory, which is pretty cool.
It’s about 7000 sq ft and is filled with a collection of eclectic props and furniture. It’s a real quirky, cool space and place for a wedding party – check out the images! They had organised a really cool company called The Italian Supper Club to do the catering – the food was delizioso! One of Justin’s very close friends played the guitar for their first dance and sang ‘sweet thing’ by Van Morrison, it was truly special.
They all partied hard and late into the evening. It was a real pleasure to be part of their very special day. Chiara you looked like a movie star…and Justin, you did not look too bad either! That’s amore!
Congratulations to you both x
