The Bell in Ticehurst is one of those public houses that you wish was your local. It’s also the kind of place you also wish had found years ago – it’s just lush! It’s not your normal wedding venue and it’s no ordinary pub.
Based in East Sussex, Ticehurst – The Bell is intimate and even has a ‘Love Nest’ for the happy to couple to spend the night (complete with roll top bath)!
Emma and James wanted to get married somewhere out of London in the Country. They wanted a relaxed and informal day. They knew we wanted to get married in a church and chose St Mary’s Church which is a stone’s throw from their venue. They fell in love with The Bell and the whole village really as it felt so warm and relaxed. Toastmasters, white chair covers with satin ribbon and top and tails were just not their thing. So, when they walked into The Bell, they could actually imagine ourselves walking through the doors as husband and wife and knew it was the right venue for them.
Emma and James have two dogs. A Basset Hound and a Bulldog. More and more lately I have requests for couples wanting their dogs to be involved in the action. This wedding was no different – so check out the images of them with their adorable and very well behaved four legged friends.
Emma stayed in The Bell the night before. It was my last wedding of December 2016 and they were truly blessed with fabulous weather. It was all very relaxed during bridal preparations. Emma looked totally stunning in her amazing dress.
St Mary’s church was just beautiful. It’s a 14th century building and boasts Grade II listed status. A full on church organ and choir and breathtaking stained glass windows. This was always going to be a fabulous ceremony.
The staff at The Bell were incredible. There are so many great spaces and places to have intimate images taken as a couple here.
Emma and James even found time to write some awesome words about my work:
“Laura photographed our wedding in December and was absolutely brilliant from the start. The idea of having someone following you round all day taking photos isn’t my idea of fun, but Laura went out of her way to get to know us so that when the day came we were already more relaxed. She blended in so well into the day and we had such a laugh together from bridal prep to first dance. All our guests commented on how kind and professional she was and how she felt an extension to our wedding guests. The finished photos are just brilliant. Such a good mix of what we wanted and going through them brings back so much happiness and memories, which we’ll have forever now. I hope in we can find a reason to work with her again sometime and would 100% recommend her to anyone”.
This was a fabulous wedding to end 2016. So thrilled to have been chosen by Emma & James, meet them and spend time with their friends and family on such a special day. All the best for the future together you gorgeous pair! x
