I had been to York House in Twickenham for many events over the years, but had never photographed a wedding here before. York House is an elegant 17th Century House with sweeping grounds to the River Thames. It was the perfect ceremony location for the lovely Rosanna and Adam.
Adams parents live near Kew and they both wanted a venue around this neck of the woods. York House has several rooms to choose from, and they decided on the room that overlooks the grounds.
Rosanna was getting ready at The Richmond Hill Hotel with her sisters and mum. Rosanna had actually made, yes made her own wedding dress – which was absolutely stunning. They all did their own hair and make-up while Rosanna’s mum did some last minute stitching on the veil!
It was a perfect sunny day. I seem to be a very lucky wedding photographer as the sun always seems to shine and it hardly ever rains (no matter what time of year it is). I am touching wood as I write this!
The ceremony was beautiful and we had plenty of time to take some gorgeous images of family and friends outside afterwards.
Once the ceremony finished, we all headed over to Petersham Village Hall. I live down the road from Petersham, but had actually never been to Petersham Village Hall before. It is a real gem.
Again, Rosanna’s parents had spent the previous day decorating this very special venue.
There were some heartfelt speeches and not a dry eye in the house. Rosanna changed into the most stunning evening dress for her first dance.
I have received the loveliest testimonial from these two and thought I would share it here:
Laura is just completely and utterly brilliant! She was, quite simply, one of the best parts of our wedding!
Not only is Laura extremely professional and experienced and produces such beautiful photographs, but she is also just an absolutely lovely person! My (now) husband and I are extremely uncomfortable having our photograph taken so we had already resigned ourselves to the fact that we probably wouldn’t have nice pictures of ourselves from the wedding, however we could not have been more wrong. From the moment we met Laura for our pre-wedding photoshoot (which I would recommend to anyone as a fantastic way to get more comfortable in front of the camera) we just loved her. She was so friendly and confident which is exactly what we needed, she totally set us at ease and got us laughing while she snapped away.
On the day she blended in seamlessly and felt more like a guest than a “supplier”, and almost every one of our guests commented on how brilliant she was. The final images we have are stunning and natural and so much more than we ever expected, I would recommend Laura without hesitation to anyone! Thank you so much for everything 🙂 Love Adam & Rosanna xx
I feel blessed to have worked with these two. So very grateful to have met them and captured images for them. Congratulations you two and best wishes for your future together x
